Sound effects make it real. I try to do my own when I can. For the opening, I watched the video on my phone and recorded the footsteps. I tried to get it as close as I could and synced them in the movie editor. I also used some sound effects from Freesound and Soundstripe.

I wrote the main songs The King as a Babe Comes Down and Changed in a Moment. However, I needed something really special for the dramatic first 2 minutes. My daughter Molly is a professional composer of music for cinema and commercials. I used her clip Misery Loves Company. I even had to license it through Soundstripe, because not even Mom gets something for free! Thank you, Molly.

My Awesome Choir

I did my choir with an amazing VST by EastWest. I used the EastWest Hollywood Backup Singers and the EW Hollywood Symphonic Choir. They have a Word Builder tool that allows me to put in the words phonetically and edit the pronunciation and timing. It is a lot of work, but the results are well worth it.

Meet George Drake

I needed an angelic boy's voice to sing at a very crucial point in the story. This 11-year-old young man did it perfectly. He had sung in a children's choir, but he had never done a recording session. I was so happy that I caught him just before his voice changed. Thank you, George...you did a wonderful job!
