Before any animation can be done, I must record a rough track of music with the proper tempo. I do the serious recording later in the project, but for STANDING I had to have the quartet singers' parts perfect so I could work on their lip sync and animation. I sang all the quartet parts as well as the parts for the group singers at the end of the song.
My arm was still in a sling from my surgery when I started the project, so everything had to be done left-handed. I didn't get to the final recording until winter of 2025.
My lead vocal has to be finished before the green screen sessions start. I completed the music by the end of summer, but I was still tweaking the master just before the final movie render.
The opening scene (approximately one minute long) needed something really special. My daughter Molly writes and produces music for soundtracks. I told her what I was looking for, and she sent me to a company she writes for. The name of the piece I chose is TEMPERATURE. It is perfect for the mood. I edited the track to fit my scene. The artist is listed as Featherland, but it is really Molly playing the music. And as with CHANGED IN A MOMENT, I still have to pay to license her music for my projects…because not even Mom gets to use it for free!
