Changed in a Moment was completed in the fall of 2023, but the vision came years before. I wrote the song back in 2009 and recorded it with Cherryholmes. The story is very personal, and I felt I needed to share it. In 2020, I began drawing sketches and creating the main character. (You may have noticed the main character is a version of myself. I had originally planned on playing a bigger role in the film, but I failed my screen test and didn’t get the job. I was a little too old and couldn’t do the stunt work.)

Most of the forest footage was taken in the winter of 2021. We live on 10 acres and have a lot of forest on our property. There are so many beautiful scenes to photograph.

The turbulent sky scenes were captured in time lapse at Daytona Beach, Florida.

I worked on the film for the next 2-½ years, doing and redoing, checking and rechecking, trying to get things as perfect as my ability would allow. My green screen shots were planned for the summer of 2023, but I had to have a major rotator cuff surgery in August. I shot the scenes as soon as my doctor told me I could shed my sling. I had hoped to be more active in the scenes but had to settle for sitting in the pew.

In November 2023, after nearly 3-½ years, the project was complete…Time to move on to the next adventure!

Here is a sample of the photos I took and how I used them in the scenes.

The mysterious church has been fitted with photos I took of the stain glass windows from the little country church we attend. I reworked and assembled them in Blender. It added a personal touch. You can see the original photo I took from our forest in the background.
